Dynamic Bridge Highlight

  • Auto Discovery
    1.) Non-root bridged APs survey the nearby root bridged AP automatically when starting up
    2.) Collect the potential root bridged AP information, including network ID and signal strength
  • Auto Configuration
    1.) Non-root bridged AP choose the root AP with the same network ID
    >> If multiple root APs have the same network ID with the non-root AP, the root AP with the best signal strength and least child nodes will be chosen.
    2.) Non-root AP sets up egress bridge link with the chosen root AP
  • Auto Recovery
    1.) Periodically monitor if the remote peer is still alive, if not:
    >> Root bridged AP: remove the bridge link
    >> Non-root bridged AP: auto repeat the bridge link setup process to choose another root bridged AP for egress link
  • Simple manually configuration and maintenance
    1.) Very few bridge parameters are necessary to set manually
    >> Network ID is necessary to set on both root AP and non-root AP for setting up the bridge network
    >> If request security, security settings are needed to be specified

 
 

Dynamic Bridge Mode - 1

  • Point to Multiple Point (only supports one hop)
    1.) Root bridged AP: two RF radios all act as bridge mode for more bridge links, high performance and increasing reliability. The Ethernet port is used for connecting backhaul
    2.)Non-root bridged AP: one RF radio sets up egress bridge link with root AP and the other is used for accessing link with wireless clients

    >> Some Root AP with same network ID can be installed together
